Event Description:
The Dixon Park District is hosting its annual Spooky Hike at the Ruth Edwards Nature Center, and we need high-energy volunteers to help us deliver a fun, memorable, and safe community event.
We are seeking 12-13 total volunteers for two distinct roles:
"Haunted Hike" Actors (10 needed): Volunteers will dress up in costume and act as spooky characters along the trails, taking direction from the Recreation Coordinator. The activity involves helping set the scene, disappearing, reappearing, and providing gentle scares along the trail route.
Campfire S'mores Assistants (2-3 needed): Volunteers will assist families with preparing and distributing s'mores around the campfire after the hike. This role is perfect for those who prefer to avoid the "spooky" trail roles.
Logistics:
Date: Friday, October 24th
Time: Volunteers must arrive at 5:00 PM for a briefing and depart at 7:00 PM (Total 2 hours).
Supervision: Volunteers will report directly to Recreation Coordinator Ryan Jandrey.

Special Event Notes (Recommended Attire):
For Actors: Please wear warm layers under your costume. If you do not have a costume, a dark outfit (black or brown) and warm layers are required. We will be outside on unpaved trails.
For S'mores Assistants: Wear warm, comfortable outdoor clothing and closed-toe shoes.
All Volunteers: Please wear durable shoes suitable for walking on park trails.
