Event Description:
Do you like helping others learn new things? We are looking for teens that would like to share their skills with 4-H members as a Teen Teacher. You are invited to join us for 4-H Teen Teachers training, twice a month for two hours (November 5, 12, December 10, 13; additional time as interested ) at the University of Illinois Whiteside County Extension Office in Sterling. During the training, youth will develop their own leadership and teaching skills, learn how to adapt to different learners’ needs, and develop skills in active listening, decision-making, and effective communication.
Participants will plan and implement a hands-on learning experience for younger youth. Students who enjoy working with kids and want to bring their passions and skills to teach others should attend. Receive training and support from adult mentors and serve as a positive role model for younger youth.
