Event Description:
An Illinois Extension Pumpkin Smash is a fun way to teach people about the importance of composting while keeping pumpkins out of landfills. At our SVCC event, members of the Sauk Valley can bring their pumpkins free of candles, glitter, and other non-organic material and dispose of them at one of our six smash stations. Let's get messy and compost some pumpkins!
Looking for people to help:
- Direct people traffic
- Assist with smash stations
- Move smashed pumpkin guts further into the field
Event time: 10 am- Noon
Volunteers are asked to be on site from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. to help with setup, the event, and teardown.
