Event Description:
We've invited our donors to come to the theater starting at 5:30pm, be greeted outside and come inside to enjoy a selection of appetizers. At 6 they will go into the theater for a program of Q&A with our artistic director and 2 of the show directors for the summer. At 7pm they leave the theater and go back to the lobby. While the theater is empty, we will set it up with cabaret tables and microphones. At 730pm the doors open for the evening cabaret which includes the donors as our guests and the public who buy tickets.
How can we use your help? You might help with opening the main door to greet people, telling/helping them with where to go for the appetizers and waiting in the lobby. You may help clean up the food while the program is going on since we're not offering it to the public and we want it put away. You might be the timekeeper in the theater during the Q&A. You might help escort people out of the theater back to the lobby. We have some older people who appreciate the personal touch. And then let them know when it's time to go back in. And for helping us out, you can stay for the cabaret of singing by our actors. It will be fun. Should be finished by 930 or so. If you want to stay and help us pack up the tablecloths and bags and carry things to the cars, you certainly can but it's not necessary. If you want to leave at 730, that is fine too.
Special Notes:
We'd like you to look nice, summer dresses, pants and tops are just fine. Probably not shorts and torn jeans. You will be on your feet so whatever is comfortable works for us.
We're asking you to come at 5 to help set out the food and make sure we can greet anyone arriving early.
Everyone is very nice and you should have a good time and fit right in. We have name tags for you that say either welcome or volunteer. We might even have one with your name on it from a past person who worked there.
