Event Description:
The Clinton Half Marathon, hosted by YWCA Clinton, celebrates its 15th year as one of Eastern Iowa’s most scenic and memorable racing experiences. Set in the heart of historic Clinton, Iowa, this annual event welcomes runners and walkers of all levels with three race distances—5K, 10K, and Half Marathon—each designed to showcase the natural beauty and vibrant character of our riverfront community.
Participants begin their journey along 5th Avenue South in Downtown Clinton, surrounded by the charm of local shops, historic architecture, and enthusiastic spectators. The course quickly transitions onto Riverview Drive, offering miles of stunning views as runners parallel the sweeping bends of the mighty Mississippi River. The route’s signature challenge comes with its series of rolling hill climbs leading into the breathtaking Eagle Point Park, where participants are rewarded with panoramic views overlooking the widest stretch of the Mississippi—a highlight that keeps runners returning year after year.
Whether you’re chasing a personal record, tackling your first race, or simply enjoying an active day with friends and family, the Clinton Half Marathon delivers a supportive, high-energy atmosphere from start to finish. This event will require you to be on your feet for quite a while, so we recommend wearing good shoes and bringing something to drink. There will be bottles of water at the event and snacks if you need something you don't have on hand.
