Event Description:
Do you like helping others learn new things? We are looking for teens who would like to share their skills with 4-H members as a Teen Teacher. You are invited to join us for three 4-H Teen Teachers trainings, two hours each, at the University of Illinois Whiteside County Extension Office in Sterling. During the activities, youth will develop their own leadership and teaching skills, learn how to adapt to different learners’ needs and develop skills in active listening, decision-making, and effective communication. Participants will plan and implement a hands-on learning experience for younger youth following the Teen Teacher sessions. Students who enjoy working with kids and want to bring their passions and skills to teach others should attend. Receive training and support from adult mentors and serve as a positive role model for younger youth.
